Is it appropriate for a house league team boys ages 15-16 to have a full out line brawl having the refs having to brake up 5 different fights? During my Monday night game there was 3 minutes left in the game. Our team was losing 3-2 (we scored 2 goals in less than a minute) and there was a lot of tension. One of their team mates after the whistle decided to run over top of our goalie which started a pushing match. During the next play when the puck dropped he intentionally tripped our one player and then our player bumped into him. He decided to slash him in the back of the leg, hurting him. Our defense men skated up and hit the kid who both tripped and slashed our team which then started a bigger pushing match and then turned into full out fighting.
This is house league. The game means nothing but there was a lot of tension. To be fully honest I think what our defense men did was the right thing to do because he stood up for his team mate. But the big fight at the end wasn't needed. What do you think is a house league fight right or is it not?
