Even though you may not know much about him, we have all heard about him. Alex Ovechkin Scored his 500th career goal on January 10th 2016. Ovechkin is the 5th faster player in NHl hockey to reach this milestone. Alex has been in the league since 2005. Since 2005 he has played 801 games. Ovechkin is an unbelievable player and there is no denying that but he is not a team player nor a leader.
Alex loves to be a show off. Late in the season of 2008-9 when he scored his 50th goal of the season we skated up to Tampa Bays bench, set his stick down on the ice and put his hands over top of it implying his stick was on fire. After that game Don Cherry was talking about what he did on Hockey Night in Canada. Don looked directly into the camera and said "Kids, Ovechkin is not someone to look up to or use as a role model." There was much more than that, he has gotten in fights outside of the NHL games with other players in the NHL and even on his team. At a bar he got in a fight with Malkin from the Pistburg Penguins.
His actions and celebrations during and outside of the NHL are not acceptable. He is a great hockey player but he is nothing but a show off and a goon
